Dance shoes

In this article, I would like to share my favorites in dance shoes and some recommendations for beginner dancers.

Disclaimer: It's not sponsored by any of the following brands.

Ladies' Shoes

If you've never danced in heels before, I would recommend starting with practice ballroom shoes. They have a suede sole, a low wide heel, and are good for spinning and turning on wooden floors. Remember that dance shoes should ensure the perfect hold of the foot, keeping the toes and ball of the foot supported at all times.

More experienced dancers can try Latin shoes with slim heels. My recommendation is not to choose heels higher than 2.5 inches. You will also need heel protectors to ensure the longevity of the heels and to prevent damage to the dance floor.

The online stores of the trustworthy American brands are:

https://www.capezio.com/

https://www.veryfineshoes.com

https://burjushoes.com/

Dance sneakers that I am wearing are from Fuego brand

https://fuegodance.com/

Notice that they have a standard rubber sole, making them suitable for dancing outdoors as well.

Men`s Shoes

There aren't many specific recommendations, but any comfortable ballroom shoes or dance sneakers will be suitable. I would suggest opting for a heel no higher than 1in.

Check the following online stores:

https://www.veryfineshoes.com (look at MEN'S STANDARD & SMOOTH or MEN`s practice categories)

https://fuegodance.com/

You can also try to find VeryFine or Capezio brands on Amazon (they have some of their assortment available there).

Of course, the best option is to try shoes offline in store so if you know such places in the area, please share with me and I will add them in this blog. Also, any other recommendations are welcome:)
